Browsing X after the login wall
X's logged-out experience has become a dead end: profile links from search results bounce to a sign-up page, and embedded timelines broke for most sites. But public means public — accounts that haven't protected their posts still publish their profile card and posts to the open web. This viewer restores the quick, no-account profile check that used to be a browser tab: journalists verifying a source, recruiters checking a candidate, or anyone who deleted their account but still needs to look something up.
Public data, honest limits
Protected accounts show only what X gives non-followers — the outline, never the posts. For programmatic access, the Twitter/X Profile API returns this card as JSON including verification type, and User Tweets pages through a public account's recent posts.
Frequently asked questions
Can I view a Twitter (X) profile without an account?+
Yes. X walls off most logged-out browsing, but public profile data is still retrievable — this tool fetches the public card (bio, followers, following, post count, verification) server-side and shows it to you with no X account involved.
Why can't I just open x.com without logging in?+
Since 2023 X aggressively redirects logged-out visitors to a sign-up wall for most pages. That's a product decision, not a privacy setting — the underlying profile data of public accounts remains public, which is what this viewer reads.
Is this anonymous?+
Yes. The lookup runs on our servers; you never authenticate with X, so there's nothing to trace back to an X identity of yours. X doesn't notify anyone about profile views in any case.
Can I see protected accounts?+
No. Protected (private) X accounts show only their basic card to non-followers — posts stay hidden. No legitimate tool can bypass protection.
Can I read an account's posts too?+
This free tool shows the profile card. Developers can pull a public account's recent posts as JSON with the User Tweets API — a free Captapi key includes 100 credits.
How many free lookups do I get?+
3 per day without an account. The API version costs 1 credit per profile and has no daily cap.
