Do I need OAuth or each platform's API key?+
No. One Captapi key gives you access to all 29 platforms. We handle authentication, proxies, rate limits, and retries for you.
How is this different from the official YouTube/Instagram APIs?+
Official APIs are restrictive (rate limits, OAuth flows, deprecated endpoints, no transcript support for Reels/TikToks). Captapi works on public data with one consistent REST interface — no app review process, no quotas to negotiate.
What counts as a credit?+
Each request consumes 1-6 credits depending on the endpoint (transcript: 2, summarize: 4, video details: 1). Cached results (within 24h) cost 0 credits.
What happens if a video has no captions?+
You'll get a 422 with a clear error message. We don't charge credits for empty results — only for successful data extraction.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. All paid plans are monthly and cancellable with one click in the dashboard. No long-term contracts.
Is this GDPR / TOS compliant?+
Captapi only extracts publicly accessible data and is intended for compliant business use. You are responsible for how you process and store the data within your jurisdiction.

No. Captapi is a read-only data API — it extracts transcripts, comments, metadata, search results, profiles, ad intelligence, commerce data, and engagement metrics from public content. It pairs perfectly with publishing and scheduling tools: use them to post, and use Captapi as the data layer that measures and analyzes performance across platforms.
Can I get analytics for any post in one consistent format?+
Yes. The cross-platform analytics endpoint detects the platform from the URL and returns the same normalized metrics object — views, likes, comments, shares, saves, and an engagement rate — so you do not have to special-case each network.
