Is my photo uploaded to a server?+

No — the splitting happens entirely in your browser with the HTML canvas API. Your image never leaves your device, which also makes the tool instant.

What order do I post the tiles in?+

Instagram's profile grid shows your newest post top-left. So post the tiles in reverse: last tile first, tile 1 last. Once all tiles are up, your profile reads the image correctly left-to-right, top-to-bottom.

What sizes do the tiles export at?+

1080 × 1080 pixels each — Instagram's native square resolution — saved as high-quality JPG. Your source photo is center-cropped to the layout's aspect ratio first (3:1 for a banner strip, 3:2, or square for 3×3).

Will the grid stay aligned on my profile?+

Yes, as long as you post only the tiles, in order, with nothing in between. Posting an unrelated photo mid-sequence shifts every following tile one position and breaks the puzzle.

Does this work with Reels covers?+

Reels appear in the main grid using their cover frame, which Instagram crops differently — mixing Reels into a puzzle sequence is risky. For a clean grid, use photo posts for the tiles.
